Day Jackets Made-to-measure kilt jackets of the finest quality tweed or barathea.
The Argyll Barathea Jacket is made from medium weight barathea wool and would normally be worn with a waistcoat. Strictly speaking this is Formal Day Wear and is most appropriate for Weddings.
The Argyll Tweed Jacket is our most popular day jacket. It comes with traditional horn buttons and an optional waistcoat or vest. This jacket normally has the gauntlet cuffs (with three horizontal buttons) but the so-called Braemar cuffs (where you have three vertical buttons as in the Prince Charlie Coatee) are possible. If you wish epaulets you have a choice of plain or braided. Available in Lovat Green, Lovat Blue or Charcoal.
Evening Doublets Highland Clans made-to-measure formal evening jackets include the Prince Charlie Coatee and the Regulation Doublet which are both worn with a black (or white) bow tie. The Regulation Doublet is so-called because at one time it was the Regulation Uniform Jacket of the Highland Regiments. It pre-dates the Prince Charlie and to many people's mind is infinitely nicer.
The Kenmore, Montrose and Sheriffmuir Kilt Doublets are normally worn with lace jabot & cuffs. Alternatively some people wear a highland cravat which is less Jacobean. The Sheriffmuir Kilt Doublet is a delightful old-fashioned jacket with gauntlet cuffs and a high-buttoned waistcoat. We can offer these jackets in Velvet or Barathea.
