Our 100% Pure New Wool Kilt Jackets are made to measure. They are smartest when worn with a waistcoat. If you wear a tweed jacket without a waistcoat, it is quite common to wear a belt - BUT it should be a day belt: this is typically a wide brown leather belt with a standard brass buckle . However, if you wear a waistcoat you should not wear a belt.

This jacket is made from medium weight barathea wool and would normally be worn with a waistcoat. Strictly speaking this is Formal Day Wear and is most appropriate for Weddings. Although it is black it is incorrect to wear it in the evenings - just as the Evening Tail Coat ('white tie and tails') is different from the full Morning Coat. This jacket cames with a choice of either one or two buttons on the front of the jacket. More info..

This jacket normally has the gauntlet cuffs (with three horizontal buttons) as shown but the so-called Braemar cuffs (where you have three vertical buttons as in the Prince Charlie Coatee) are possible.
